Genevieve Chappell Rocks Velocity Magazine!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Genevieve Chappell to anchor Velocity Magazine webisodes

August 27, 2008 (Huntington Beach, Calif.) – Velocity Magazine has announced that Genevieve Chappell, host of ESPN’s Garage Block, will anchor the new Velocity webisodes, which will be hosted on the website of Velocity Magazine. Velocity TV will be prominently features on the magazine’s website, www.velocitymag.com

Having been named the ‘Queen of Cars’ for hosting the popular Bidding Wars, Mothers Polish Car Show Series, and the Russo & Steel Classic Car Auction shows on ESPN and ESPN2, Chappell brings years of work in front of the camera at numerous car shows and automobile auctions to Velocity. Having grown up in Southern California and living in Orange County herself, she was the natural choice to anchor Velocity’s webisodes. Chappell was also featured in the pages of Velocity Magazine’s July/August 2008 issue.

“I couldn’t be happier to be able to work with Velocity Magazine on this project,” said Chappell, who calls Huntington Beach home. “Velocity combines two of my loves; my home of Orange County, and classic and custom cars that I admire and love to be around. To be featured in Velocity earlier this year was great, but now to be able to work with David Threshie and his staff to develop this show is almost unbelievable.”

Velocity websiodes will focus on the significant car culture and events of Orange County. The additional coverage will complement the editorial focus of Velocity magazine, as well as provide viewers further coverage of the most important cars and personalities of Orange County.

“To have someone with Genevieve’s experience and passion for cars leading our new Velocity webisodes is great,” said David Threshie, Publisher of Velocity Magazine. “We want to offer our readers and advertisers – the car enthusiasts of Orange County – something new and different; something they will enjoy viewing that allows us to better chronicle our distinctive community of cars and their unique owners. Genevieve embodies what Velocity Magazine is about and we are thrilled to see her shows.”

Velocity TV will be produced by Genevieve Chappell’s company GCS Wise & Innovative.

The first Velocity webisode will be launched on Velocity Magazine’s website – velocitymag.com – on September 15.

Bobby Green’s ’31 Ford roadster featured in the September 2008 issue of HOT ROD Deluxe. On sale July 15.

We’ve got another issue of HOT ROD Deluxe coming out July 15th, and we have to say that Genevieve Chappell only makes Bobby Green’s ’31 roadster better.

In addition to the Halibrand shod roadster hailing from beautiful downtown Burbank, contributor Dick Martin relays the story of Art Male, one of the original S.C.T.A. members who had the forethought to photographically document the beginnings of dry lake racing.

Contributor Brad Ocock provided the feature on the wicked phone booth T, and Steve Magnante follows suit and introduces us to the straight axle Gasser of Paul Soliz and the El Monte Air Force.

The latest issue has plenty of tech, including the build-up chronicled by Magnante of a S.Co.T.-blown Flathead, thanks to the efforts of Mike Herman.

The issue is on sale July 15, 2008, so go and camp out at your favorite newsstand and be the first on the block to get your copy. Give us your feedback on the new issue by responding to this blog or e-mail us at hotroddeluxe@hotrod.com.
