BATOR INTERNATIONAL AUCTIONS/5th ANNUAL BARBER VINTAGE FESTIVAL

My friend and Co-host Glen Bator is an expert when it comes to vintage bikes.
You should see his collection, it’s insane and I must admit, makes me quite envious!

If you appreciate vintage bikes and memorabilia as much as I do, then you won’t want to miss this event.

Bator International, Inc. is honored to be the auctioneer of choice for the inaugural 2009 Barber Vintage Festival Auction. This year’s auction will take place in a new dedicated location next to the traditional swap meet vendor area. Auction day is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2009, in conjunction with the festival activities of racing and the fabulous air show. We are anticipating over 150 of the finest motorcycles to be offered, many of which are going to be sold at “no reserve” to the highest bidder. Auction preview day is Friday, October 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This year’s event will bring some of the finest motorcycles available for sale under one tent as well as many motorcycles being exclusively imported from England, Italy and Japan! Additionally, you will see a full array of very rare bikes like Ariel, Velocette, D.O.T., Indian, and many other brands from around the world.
We would like to invite all of our friends, old and new, to take advantage of this great opportunity to sell their classic motorcycles during the festival weekend.

There is no better place to realize the best dollar for your bike, as there will be hundreds of interested buyers and classic cycle enthusiasts looking for their next acquisition. Space is limited for this world class event, and we are now accepting consignments, so if you have a bike that you would like to enter, please contact us soon so we can assure you a space in the line up! You can enter your bike on line at www.batorauctions.com or call us at (805) 646-9566 for further assistance.

Old Guy in China Fights “Unsafe Driving” With Brick

Running a red light is one of the most dangerous things a driver can do, and one 74 year-old resident of Lanzhou, China has had enough of it. Citing the fact that he’s almost been killed by drivers ripping through the crosswalk in front of his residence, Yan Zheng-ping has taken to bashing the offending cars with a brink. Though he’s reportedly attacked 30 vehicles, local police haven’t taken any action yet, and his vigilante actions have some residents referring to Zheng-ping as the “elderly hero.” Check out the full article—and an interview with the crosswalk crusader—over on China News Wrap.

Kyle Mohan Racing takes two cars to Formula Drift ‘All In’ at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

dsc_0751_jpg1

For the first time, Kyle Mohan will not only be the lead driver for the team that bears his name, but will slide into the role of Team Owner as his team enters a car in the Pro-Am competition at Las Vegas.

Mohan, of course, will be back behind the wheel of the 2009 Mazda RX-8 that he has competed in during the first three rounds of this year’s Formula Drift championship. Since the previous round in New Jersey, the KMR team has undertaken extensive testing and development of the car, making it more potent for the fast Las Vegas Motor Speedway course.

“The Las Vegas course is very fast, and really makes you push yourself,” said Mohan. “I really enjoy that part of it. Our Mazda RX-8 also works very well in fast, high-speed courses. This was not one of our better events last year, and the team has been working hard to make sure we put together a very strong car for this weekend.”

In addition, the KMR team has been busy preparing the KMR Mazda RX-7 FC3S, which will be driven in the Las Vegas Pro-Am by former MAZDA Team-Drift driver and road racer Johnny Kanavas. Mohan and Kanavas have driven together with the Mazda Team Drift at the Long Beach Grand Prix as well as the Portland Formula D Team-Drift competition in 2008.

“Johnny comes from a road racing background, but also has quite a bit of drifting experience.” said Mohan. “I have driven with him numerous times in practice, testing, and Team-Drift competition and he is an extremely capable drifter. I’m excited to see him compete in Pro-Am and I’m glad that we’ve been able to put together a two-car effort for the first time with help from Mazdatrix.com and Cooper Tire. We’ve been trying to make this happen for a long time and the Vegas Pro-Am came together nicely and the timing was perfect.”

Kanavas is a professional driver and driving instructor with experience from drifting and karting to SPEED World Challenge, Playboy MX-5 Cup, 24-hour endurance racing and more. Kanavas has worked with several auto manufacturers, driving/racing schools, hot-lap events and promotional racing programs. Las Vegas Pro-Am will be his first solo Formula Drift competition.

“I’m really happy we were able to put this together for Vegas Pro-Am,” said Kanavas. “Kyle has been tremendous help with my transition to drifting and I look forward to working with KMR. I am enthusiastic about this weekend, and would like to thank KMR, Mazdatrix.com and Cooper Tire for their support this weekend.”

EBC Sports Rotors, featured on Spike TV’s, Power Block “Trucks”

As most of you know, a couple of months ago, I signed on as the official spokesperson of EBC Brakes.
I’ve been a big fan of their prooducts for a looong time – so I’m super pumped!

Recently on “Trucks” which is a part of Spike TVs, Power Block, the EBC Brakes, Sports Rotor was featured (click link to see video below)

http://video.powerblocktv.com/services/player/bcpid6270746001?bctid=17073958001

EBC Yellowstuff is an aramid fibre based brake compound with high brake effect form cold and is possibly one of the first ever compounds that can be used for street and track driving., EBC Redstuff High Performance brake pads have the lowest dust rating pads for Prestige imports and faster street driving. Designed for premium street driving offering better brake effect up to 600°C (1100°F). EBC Greenstuff has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. Manufactured using premium disc blanks mentioned above, the unique wide aperture slots in the EBC sport rotor actually draw cool air under the pad during heavy braking and reduce brake temperatures whilst also helping remove dirt, dust and debris and gasses created by heavy braking from the pad contact area.
